The Kenya Association of Healthcare Support Assistance (KAHSA) is committed to ensuring that our members are informed and prepared for the licensing requirements in the healthcare sector.
Here are the key points to note:
Category 1 Members:
Those who completed a one-year training program are encouraged to proceed with the licensing application.
The application process for Category 1 members is through the e-citizen platform under KHPOA Services.
Please ensure that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted as per the guidelines outlined on the e-citizen portal.
Category 2 Members:
Members falling under Category 2 will need to undergo upgrade programs as directed by KHPOA and guided by KAHSA.
The specifics of the upgrade programs will be communicated and KAHSA will guide Category 2 members further once the details are established.
We encourage Category 2 members to stay updated on communications from KAHSA for the latest information regarding the upgrade programs.
Category 2 members who applied and paid for the license last year have nothing to worry about. Please keep your mpesa confirmation messages safe. Once you complete the upgrade peograms, you will apply and get your license using the same payments deposited to KHPOA accounts.
Category 3 Members:
For members who trained in other courses but are currently working as healthcare assistants, it is crucial to clarify their roles.
Category 3 members
are advised to either undergo training as healthcare assistants or secure jobs in their designated courses to avoid any confusion in practice.
Ensuring alignment between training and job roles will contribute to a standardized and effective healthcare support system.
We understand the significance of professional licensing in maintaining high standards of healthcare assistance, and we appreciate your cooperation in adhering to the outlined procedures.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to the KAHSA office through the Secretary General on 0111698684. We will continue to provide updates as necessary to keep our members well-informed.
